In his opening speech, Mr. Yee CM, CEO of Wezmart Group, captivated the audience with a thought-provoking fable: "The Diligent Ant and the Lazy Grasshopper." This tale underscores the importance of hard work and strategic planning. However, he noted that diligence alone may not suffice in today's world where surprises are frequent. He referenced ByteDance's (TikTok) recent layoffs of 700 global employees as an example, where AI-driven content moderation surprised many, despite the company's strong financial position.

Mr. Yee further emphasized the future trend of a "Good Work Alliance," highlighting the dual focus on employers adopting technology to innovate work life, while employees increasingly seek human-centric values.

This economic shift similarly influences the world of Corporate Secretaries, with technology playing a pivotal role. Digitalization calls for Automation, Standardization, and Simplification to advance Regulatory Technology ("RegTech") within digitized corporate governance.
